    國防部副部長李喜明表示，從行政部門角度來看，這是一個非常好的互動象徵。李喜明說：『(原音)未來對國防部推動對美工作來講，都是正面的影響，所以基本上我覺得政府處理這事情還有美國處理這事情，都是非常好的事情。』

  • 國安局副局長周美伍指出，這是中華民國與美國從1979年斷交以來，第一次出現這種互動模式，國安局認為是美方釋出善意。周美伍說：『(原音)台美斷交以來，美國對台美互動模式第一個產生重大改變，這對我們當然是一個好的事情、好的開始，這種互動模式是前所未有的，我想我們應該可以視為這是美方對我們的善意，未來我相信台美關係是保持審慎樂觀態度。』
